PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The M578 and M578A1 are base
detonating fuzes. Upon either impact
or graze, the ball bearing drives the
striker needle forward into the
detonator. The detonator output
initiates the lead charge and the
booster, thereby functioning the round.
